Kristofer
Morhed is a composer, arranger and pianist from Uppsala, Sweden. Through his music, Kristofer
explores
several different fields and genres including orchestral/chamber
music, film/videogame music, jazz and electronic music. His higher education consists of a bachelor degree and a master degree in composition from Piteå
school of music in Sweden. Teachers through the years have
been prof. Jan Sandström, Johan Ramström, Fredrik Högberg and
Hans Hjortek. Kristofer has studied electronic composition for Johan
Samskog, counterpoint for prof. Gary Verkade, and has also participated in masterclasses for
contemporary
composer Salvatore Sciarrino and for film
music
composer Bruce Broughton.
Compositions by Kristofer Morhed have been played
by professional
orchestras and ensembles like Linné Quintet, Norrlandoperans Symphony Orchestra,
Norrbotten NEO, Quartetto Prometeo, Trio X, Uppsala Chamber Orchestra and Uppsala Chamber Soloists.
In addition to composition Kristofer has a jazz pianist-background,
educated by Andreas Kreuger, Harri Ihanus and
Gösta Rundqvist, as well as further studies in choral conducting for prof. Stefan Parkman at Uppsala University.
